Adoption story: Josh + Maryanne

It was a joy to serve Josh and Maryanne on their adoption journey, although I didn't have very long to get to know them!  Although they had gone through a very long wait with a different local agency, they matched and placed within the first month they signed on with me!  (All glory to God!)

Here's a bit of their story, a story that shows everything can change with one phone call!

Congratulations on your beautiful family!

"All things happen in Gods perfect timing," was something we have heard for the past three years during the waiting process to adopt our daughter. And boy did that ring true!

We called Christian Adoption Consultants and spoke with Gretchen at a time when we had already been waiting years and felt hopeless and confused. The Lord had put us on this journey and we were so ready to meet our forever daughter.

From the beginning Gretchen was professional, knowledgeable and always available to help us.

One morning, we received a call regarding a baby girl on the way to our son’s birthday party. And we had been selected as parents!

Although chaotic and extremely exciting, it was a true whirlwind of emotions during the next few days and weeks as we made last minute travel plans to meet a baby who had just been born.

When we met our daughter's birth mother, she told us she knew she couldn’t have an abortion, however she knew she couldn’t care for her baby, and she hoped that this precious child was everything we dreamed of.  Of course she is everything we dreamed of, prayed for and God had prepared us for!

God’s timing is perfect and He is Sovereign over all and we are so thankful He chose us to be parents to our sweet, beautiful daughter.

And although I am sure not typical, we signed with CAC and within 17 days we were at the hospital holding our daughter because all things happen in Gods perfect timing.

We are forever grateful to CAC for being there to connect us and pray for us.

Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
